The visual motifs on this blanket of merino and cashmere are displayed through a double-sided Jacquard weaving. They were inspired by the jockey jerseys, horse rugs, and other specialized items made at the Hermes Workshop in Faubourg Saint-Honore from the beginning of the 20th century to the 1960s. Each stable was assigned a unique motif based on heraldry principles, the study of coats-of-arms. The motifs were used on the jockeys’ jerseys and horse rugs to identify the stables.
